The German philosopher Nietzsche said that “all truly great thoughts are conceived while walking”.
Faced with a statement as forceful as this, it is logical that many do not want to do without walking even if they are on vacation. And for them we have the good news that the Berguedà area, where El Jou Nature is located, is a perfect setting for hiking.
Did you know that there is a network of trails that has more than 2,000 km? With a selection of 40 circular routes and 6 crossings, this area has recovered old paths that guard their valuable heritage with suspicion. Through them you can enjoy nature and landscapes, while you soak up the history that speaks about entire generations, transhumance, joys, work and love.
The Berguedà offers more than 70 proposals that go from mountains to valleys and rivers, to choose according to tastes and possibilities. We tell you curiosities about some of them. Can you come with us?

To Queralt through the Chapels
This route is short and easy to do and allows you to visit the north and south face of the Sierra de Queralt, visiting the religious pilgrimage buildings, including the sanctuary.
Many processions were held from Berga to Queralt, so there are two very well laid out paths: one in the shade and the other in the sunshine.

The Picasso route (Route in stages)
It was the year 1906 when Picasso settled in the town of Gósol. He was there for almost 3 months, during which time the landscapes and the inhabitants of the area became the inspiration for the painter's work. The steam train reached Guardiola before the road did. But from this town to Gósol there was no other choice but to go along the royal road, the bridle path of medieval origin.
This route extends for almost 60 km that can be done in 4 stages and goes from Guardiola de Berguedà to Bellver de Cerdanya, passing through Saldes and Gósol.
The bright, reddish and ocher colors take center stage throughout the landscape; so it is not surprising that those same tones are the ones that predominate in the work of the painter from his period in Gósol.
